Iran, historically known as Persia, has stood tall among civilizations for centuries, boasting one of the most robust maritime forces and industries. However, in the past century, while the marina industry globally flourished, Iran’s presence in this domain remained limited.

Just a decade ago, Iran lacked marinas entirely, and the absence of such a service and marine lifestyle was strongly felt. This prompted Makin Darya, under the banner of “Better Sea, Better Life,” to embark on a mission to pioneer and establish this concept and industry in Iran.

Makin Darya envisioned a revolutionary concept, a comprehensive approach that caters to the diverse needs of those seeking to embrace the beauty and wonders of the maritime world. Presented as a leisure and pleasure industry for all sea enthusiasts, the idea aimed to introduce a marine lifestyle seamlessly intertwined with the traditions of the tribes and communities residing along the northern and southern coasts of Iran.

This groundbreaking initiative sought to blend an international maritime lifestyle with Iranian cultural elements, encompassing food, music, traditional ceremonies, clothing, architecture, and various other cultural aspects. The goal was to create a harmonious fusion that celebrates both the richness of the sea and the cultural diversity of Iran.

In 2014, Makin Darya, as the visionary creator, laid the foundation for Iran’s first marina on Kish Island through private investment. The magnitude of this investment exceeded 20 million euros, spanning across a vast 10-hectare expanse.

This marina has the capacity to accommodate 287 floating vessels ranging from 8 to 30 meters in length. It boasts freshwater and electricity services, ranging from a single-phase 16-amp to a three-phase 63-amp supply at the floating docks.

Equipped with a 6.5-meter R.I.B. (Rigid Inflatable Boat) for potential rescue operations, the marina ensures safety on the water. Among its facilities is a coastal fuel station designed to world standards, capable of holding 24,000 liters of gasoline and 24,000 liters of diesel, simplifying and securing refueling operations.

All these efforts are geared towards cultivating a maritime lifestyle for our fellow citizens, ensuring the optimal utilization of this divine gift bestowed upon our nation. The aim is to bring the sea back to the Iranian families’ basket, fostering a connection with this precious resource.
